The Global Wellness Project is a team of concerned professionals from film, television, fitness and medicine that have decided to tithe our talents and pool our resources to bring an end to health disparities in our community.
Our primary goal is to improve health and healthcare outcomes for racial and ethnic minority communities by utilizing film, television and new media to educate, motivate and promote healthy behaviors which will in turn save lives. We will promote policies, programs, and practices that address health, social, economic, environmental and other factors which impact health.
Minorities experience higher rates of illness and death from health conditions such as heart disease, stroke, specific cancers, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, asthma, hepatitis B, and obesity.
We will produce educational and engaging films, television programming, and web-series designed to influence lifestyle choices and promote health and wellness awareness. In addition, we will create interactive internet based applications for social media and cell phone dissemination.
